Overview

The KH1 whip clips can be mounted to any KH1. They are supplied pre-mounted on the right side of the radio as part of the Edgewood package. Left-handed operators may prefer to move them to the left side.
These clips have two functions:
  1. Hold the telescoping whip
  2. Retain the free end of the counterpoise wire, or even a thin headphone cable (max diameter 1/16" [1.5 mm])
A pair of whip clips is shown above. The wire gripper can be seen at bottom-right on each clip. You can use one or both grippers to secure the end of the wire, preventing it from coming loose inside a pocket or the ES20 carrying case.
