Resonances in the 7, 10, and 14 MHz jumper block settings fall in or near the 40, 30, and 20 meter ham bands, though frequencies may shift due to ground characteristics, radial wire length and placement, etc. The fourth setting, 21 MHz, is for use on 15 m, as well as 17, 12, and 10 meters with a wide-range ATU. Elecraft transceivers include optional built-in ATUs that have the required range. NOTE: When using whip antennas above QRP power levels, especially on non-resonant bands, a balun is a necessity to keep coax shield radiation from interfering with your transceiver, computer, or other attached equipment. The Elecraft BL3 is specifically designed to allow power of up to 100 W CW/SSB (50 W DATA) to be used with the AX4.

Specs

Bands

Up to 7, via four band-jumper settings: 7, 10, 14, and 21 MHz.
